Looking for some cheap sleep on the road? There will be an array of motels, back packers inns, cheap hotels and budgeted resorts as you travel through the length and breath of USA. Cheap hotels offering lodging with probably a drink thrown in to add a little lure are a common sight during tourist seasons. It is very easy to check in them with the minimum of regulatory hassles. However there are certain pointers that need to be taken care of while traveling in the US.
Accommodation arrangements should be done well in advance, especially during the peak tourist season as most cheap hotels at popular destinations will be booked by travel agents and trip advisors well before time. It is not difficult to find vacancy along the major Interstate highways when you want to crash out after a weary drive. It is strongly unadvisable to not sleep in your vehicle at highway "rest areas" for safety reasons.
The European style bread and breakfast are slightly expensive in the US and can break your budget. Many cheap hotel chains run special tariffs with double rooms costing as less as $29.95. The rising rates of crime involving tourists, is a cause of global concern, but the US is comparatively safer with rigid laws in place. It is a good idea to have a safety checklist customized to your holiday destination and make sure you talk to experts and other travelers about their first hand experiences in that area. An unsafe stay in a cheap hotel can turn out to be immensely costly. Take Care!
