Looking for some cheap sleep on the road? There will be an array of motels, back packers inns, cheap hotels and budgeted resorts as you travel through the length and breath of USA. Cheap hotels offering lodging with probably a drink thrown in to add a little lure are a common sight during tourist seasons. It is very easy to check in them with the minimum of regulatory hassles. However there are certain pointers that need to be taken care of while traveling in the US.

Accommodation arrangements should be done well in advance, especially during the peak tourist season as most cheap hotels at popular destinations will be booked by travel agents and trip advisors well before time. It is not difficult to find vacancy along the major Interstate highways when you want to crash out after a weary drive. It is strongly unadvisable to not sleep in your vehicle at highway "rest areas" for safety reasons.

The European style bread and breakfast are slightly expensive in the US and can break your budget. Many cheap hotel chains run special tariffs with double rooms costing as less as $29.95. The rising rates of crime involving tourists, is a cause of global concern, but the US is comparatively safer with rigid laws in place. It is a good idea to have a safety checklist customized to your holiday destination and make sure you talk to experts and other travelers about their first hand experiences in that area. An unsafe stay in a cheap hotel can turn out to be immensely costly. Take Care!

For those who love to travel to new places, a common trend is to look for a cheap hotel that offers comfortable stay at affordable prices. This way they can save on the lodging expenses and use that money on sightseeing. However, going for a cheap hotel does not necessarily mean that the tourists want to compromise with comfortable and hygienic living.
Most of the well known tourist destinations all over the world have plenty of price worthy hotels to choose from. However, these may not have the range of amenities and services offered by luxury hotels. Nevertheless, a cheap hotel has often been able to satisfy its customers with personalized services and affordable price range of rooms. For example the tariff for a double bed room at a cheap hotel with satisfactory services may be as low as $20.
Search for a wide range of cheap hotels online to get the best deal. This way you can compare prices of rooms, services provided, location advantages, etc. You may be happy to find that a cheap hotel can actually live up to your expectations and make your holiday a memorable one. It will save you from financial difficulties but at the same time make your stay a relaxed one.

HRS; Europe's hotel portal which works with 30,000 plus companies across the globe to provide accommodation in around 250,000 properties spread across more than 180 nations has calculated that the Average Daily Rate of one star hotels in the United Kingdom have seen an almost 10 percent decrease between 2010 and 2011 for corporate travellers. HRS has also revealed that two star hotels have seen a 3 percent decrease in their Average Daily Rate during the same period, while three star hotels have seen the greatest difference of 14 percent with prices changing from GBP 76.20 in 2010 to GBP 65.81 in the year 2011. While analysing UK bookings made by corporate travellers in the United Kingdom, HRS also noticed that in 2010-2011, four star hotels saw a 13 percent increase in the Average Daily Rate from GBP 91.52 to GBP 103.13.

Jon West, the Managing Director UK & Ireland HRS, stated that the flurry of events taking place in London in 2012 would also lead to an increase in the prices of hotels during the majority of 2012 as hotels would try and maximise rates and profits. However, he further elaborated that HRS believes that this higher demand will not materialise and rooms will be available in London over the period.
